Crisis Planning: Our practice is focused on protecting individuals and their families in need of nursing home care. Many clients call us while "in crisis", meaning that they (or their loved one) are in need of immediate long-term care, maybe even already in a nursing home, but do not yet qualify for medical assistance (aka Medicaid) benefits. With some nursing homes charging more than $10,000 per month, they will not be able to pay privately for an extended period of time and have heard conflicting information about applying for Medicaid benefits. Rather than paying the nursing home charges out of pocket until they run out of money, we help these clients to qualify for medical assistance as fast as possible while protecting their assets to the fullest possible extent. Our plans encompass both Medicaid planning as well as Estate Planning, in order to protect our clients, their families and their estate.
Advanced Planning: Other clients call us and are concerned with the potential impact of nursing home costs in the future. We also help these clients, as advance planning often presents even more options.
